The 2030 Group (20~30 year old fan group) of a SNSD fan cafe 'Hwasooeunhwa' posted an advertisement on a newspaper in order to celebrate Sunny's birthday on May 15th. This advertisement garnered much attention with a hand-drawn picture of a smiling Sunny by an uncle fan.

They included the picture as well as a thank-you letter saying, "Sunny's father who is currently at Kuwait, thank you for bringing the brighter than sun, Sunny to this world".

Also wrote congratulatory letters saying things such as, "Happy Birthday to our full of aegyo, cute, wonderful and amazing singer Sunny", "Sunny who has the smile like the warm sunshine of May, we are happy because of your presence".

[05.15.09] SNSD Taeyeon vs. Sooyoung, Sooyoung's 'Endless Tears' during the Acting Battle

SNSD's Taeyeon and Sooyoung competed fiercely with their acting.


Taeyeon and Sooyoung acted out a improvised skit which will be aired during the MBC 'SNSD's Horror Film Factory' on the 17th.

The mission given to the girls of SNSD on the previous episode that aired on the 5th was to act out a given role in a haunted school. This was to help the girls practice control of their emotions as well as a chance to find out which of the girls would be more successful in carrying out their given roles.

During this process, Sooyoung played the role of an insurance salesperson. She cried and begged Taeyeon to buy her products but Taeyeon fully carried out her given role by coldly turning her down.

Also Sunny acted her part of going to a clothes store and asking for refunds with a reason that made no sense. And the other members did not fall far behind with their roles of debt collector and other various acts such as love-making.

On the other hand, Sooyoung, Taeyeon and Sunny will be given the chance to film a test film to present to a famous movie director and actor if they are chosen as the final contestant.

SNSD's 'Gee' has drawn attention by being played in the SBS drama, 'City Hall'.

'Gee' was played as Shin Mirae's (played by Kim Sunah) protest song during the drama, 'City Hall' while she was holding a one-man protest stage in front of the city hall.

Shin Mirae wins a beauty contest and 200 million wons as reward on a previous episode, but stages a one-man protest when she is deny her reward money. At the protest, Shin Mirae's old anarchist friends 'Cat of the attic' and 'My eraser' cheers her on dressed in cute doll outfits and dancing along to 'Gee'.

The fresh and cute girls of SNSD brought with them a hurricane of cute dances and colorful skinny jeans with 'Gee' as their title song of their 2nd album. 'Gee' has been parodied on various shows, dramas and CFs such as 'Taehee Hyegyo Jihyeonie', 'Infinity Challenge', '1Night 2 Days', 'Rude Youngeh' making the phrase 'This is now Girls Generation' feel as if it's actually true.

A representative of 'City Hall' stated, 'This was a scene that tried to lighten the serious mood of the drama that is heavily based on politics' and also, 'Even the staff could not hold back their laughters when the anarchists did their cute dances to 'Gee' on the filming set'.

Also on the cards that Mirae holds up during her protest is a parody from 'Love Actually' and will surprise the viewers with the random pictures of Seo Taeji, Seo Jisup, Lee Minho as well as pictures of other famous celebrities.

The scene where Mirae shows off her cute 'Gee' dance during her one-man protest will be included in episode 6 of 'City Hall' that will air at 9:55 PM of the 14th.

[05.13.09] Sooyoung of SNSD, Celebratory batting on 15th at Samsung vs. Dusan game

Sooyoung of SNSD will be making an appearance as a batter for the Samsung vs. Dusan baseball game on the 15th.

In celebration of Teacher's Day also designated as 'Joongahng University Day' which is on the 15th, Sooyoung will be cheering the teams during the game at Jamsil Stadium.

This celebratory event was created to get not just the college students and staff, but also all related workers of Joongahn University Hospital and middle/high school students of that region to come to Jamsil Stadium in order to cheer on the Dusan Bears. The total estimated number of invited audience is 6,100 people.

The celebratory pitching for 'Joongahng University Day' will be done by the vice principal of Joongahng University, and Sooyoung of SNSD, who is currently a student at the theater department of Joongahng University will be in charge of the celebratory batting.

One the other hand the Dusan group has become one family with Joongahng University after numerous community service activities and donations to the school on May 14th of last year.

[05.11.09] SNSD's Horror Queen. Tearful Challenge 'Even a sexy weather forecast'

The unique weather forecasts displayed by SNSD on MBC 'Horror Film Factory' attracted much attention.

During the show that aired on the 10th, each member acted out their distinct versions of weather forecasts as a challenge to test their abilities before their experience in the haunted classroom.

With this challenge, Taeyeon reported about the sand storms saying, "There was a sand storm where my friend lives. My friend has weak lungs.." all the while crying intensely for her friend.

Then Sooyoung surprised MC Yoo Saeyoon and the other members when she gave her forecast in a 'sexy version'. Sooyoung's sexy version that incorporated lustful tone and motions heated up the studio.
